Where is the material,
and when does it get here?

Pro-K-Logic tracks industrial and construction freight from the shipping release to the moment it is handed over — using a QR code printed on the paperwork the driver is already carrying.

The problem

Two questions nobody can answer quickly

“When is it coming to site?”

Major projects still run this on phone calls and forwarded emails, even though every driver is already carrying a location-capable device. The site finds out the truck is arriving when the truck arrives.

“Where is it now?”

Between the fabricator’s shipping release and the receiver’s signature, custody is tracked on paper, in spreadsheets, and in people’s heads. When something is missing, reconstructing what happened takes days.

How it works

One code on the paperwork, scanned at each handover

The shipping release is the material’s birth certificate. The QR code stamped on it is the name tag. Every scan after that is a stamp in the passport — and nothing in the record is ever edited, only added to.

  1. The release is issuedA shipping release is created and its bill of materials uploaded. Pro-K-Logic stamps a QR code directly onto the PDF, beside the ship-to address, where the driver already looks.
  2. The shop marks it readyWhoever is loading scans the code and types their name. No account, no app, no sign-up — holding the paperwork is the authorisation.
  3. The driver picks it upThe driver scans the same code, confirms pickup, gives an ETA, photographs the load, and chooses whether to share live location or post checkpoints by hand.
  4. Updates in transitShort, structured updates — a delay, a revised ETA — go on the shipment’s timeline instead of scattering across text messages and voicemail.
  5. The site is told it’s comingReceivers pick their own warning distances. Thirty kilometres out, ten kilometres out, whatever suits the gate and the crane. Each alert fires once.
  6. Delivered, with proofPhotographs of the material as delivered, a typed name and a signature. Time on site is recorded, so waiting becomes a number instead of an argument.
Privacy by design

The driver’s phone behaves like the truck’s ignition

Drivers use their own phones. That is a meaningful difference from a GPS box bolted into a company vehicle, and it drove the architecture rather than being bolted on afterwards. Location exists while a load is moving, and not otherwise.

  • Tracking starts with a scan and stops at delivery. It is bounded by the job, with a hard time limit, and enforced in the software rather than promised in a policy.
  • No background location permission is requested at all. Not “Always” on iOS, not background location on Android. When tracking is on, the phone shows its own indicator.
  • Location belongs to a trip, not to a person. There is no profile accumulating where a driver has been across jobs.
  • Every look is logged. Drivers can see their own history and who viewed their location, and keep that record after a load is finished.
  • Manual updates always work. A driver who declines location sharing can still do the whole job by scanning and tapping.
  • The data is never sold, shared or repurposed. No advertising or analytics SDKs, and no feature that infers where anyone stopped.

Notifications

Alerts people asked for, in the words they need

Site receiving contacts can choose to be told by push notification, email or SMS when a delivery is approaching and when it has arrived. SMS is off unless someone turns it on.

How someone opts in

A receiver has an account, is added to a project by their employer, and opens Notification Preferences. There they choose which alerts they want, at what distances, and on which channels. To receive SMS they must select it and enter their own mobile number. They can turn it off on the same screen at any time, or reply STOP to any message.

Who builds it

KleerForm Corp

Pro-K-Logic is built by KleerForm Corp in Alberta, Canada, out of close to twenty years on the tools and in the trailer — ironworking, foreman, superintendent, planning and materials management — rather than out of logistics software. The product exists because those two questions at the top of this page never once got a good answer on a project.
